Coffee and Cocktails

In January I'm doing a long weekend in Madrid (mostly because I need a long weekend and RyanAir has insanely cheap tickets from France to Spain in January.)

I'm staying at the Best Western Hotel Carlos V on Maestro Vitoria 5.

It looks to be between Metro Callao and Metro Sol off the Calle de Preciados. It's closer to the Callao stop than the Sol stop as far as I can tell.

Any Madrid folk or people who have been to Madrid know much about that neighborhood?

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone here can help me out..

My husband (english) and I (american) are flying to Cairo next week to spend Christmas with my sister in law and her husband. They moved there a few months ago due to his job with the British government - but that's not really related to anything. :o)

Anyhow, we wanted to take a few things with us - mainly melatonin capsules, nurofen tablets and some 'tummy medicine'. I'm just wondering, should these things be in un-opened packages? I remember the story of the guy in Dubai who was sent to prison for carrying over some legal (over here) medications that their customs assumed were class A's because they were in unmarked packages.. I'd prefer not to go to Egyptian prison for melatonin!

Can anyone advise?

Also if anyone has any other general Egypt advice, that'd be grand. We're spending 3-4 days in Cairo, 2 days in Sharm and 3 days in Luxor (hotels and travel arrangements have already been made, but everything else is fair game!).
